Short Polish documentary film Little Bride (dir. Leslaw Dobrucki), which was represented by East Silver at 45th IFF Karlovy Vary (also in competition), will at DOKUFEST compete for the award for the best international documentary film. In the competition are also another Polish titles, such as Chemo (dir. Pawel Lozinski) or Six Weeks (Marcin Janos Krawczyk).
DOKUFEST Kosovo unfortunately still struggles with many obstacles made by the partially-recognised independence of the Republic of Kosovo. East Silver openly supports the activities of DOKUFEST and collaborates with the festival. The traditional part of the festival is also the videolibrary for film professionals, in which East Silver also submitted several titles from our East Silver Caravan selection:

There is about 2.5 million Turkish minority members in Germany. Every year there is at least a dozen of Turkish women beaten to death by their husbands or other family members. The actual scale of those crimes in Germany, where law and order are so highly val ued, is unknown — according to the official data, in Turkey there are committed more than 300 so-called honor killings annually and 40% of wives are violence victims. A Turkish girl was sent to Germany and forced to marry when she was 13 years old. Soon after, her hell has begun; she was beaten and abused in different ways. After several years she managed to run away; she has been hiding until now – only because of that she is able to tell us her life story.

Osadne is a film about an encounter between current top European leaders and the local politicians from the last village on the edge of the European Union. The small village of Osadné welcomes a delegation from the European Parliament. And vice versa – the mayor and priest from OSADNÉ visit Brussels institutions on invitation from the European Parliament.
