The Last Day of Summer
Koniec lata, Poland, 2010, 34 min, HD, Creative, Personal View, Youth Documentary
Two years ago, at my parents’ place in the village, I was looking for a book to read. Instead I found my old diaries. Two weeks later I went to Penza, 700km from Moscow. Provincial Russia looks like Poland twenty years ago. By accident I got to a cadet school. I noticed a group of boys wearing military uniforms marching in a column. Having found the diary and visiting the schoolbrought back my childhood memories and I decided to make a film about it. I chose 5 of the students to be the characters of my film. I observed their ordinary day with a camera. This is how I made a film which, on the one hand, is a travel back to my childhood and, on the other hand, is a story of a not easy life in contemporary Russia.

There is a storm, the water around is freezing - dips to 0° centigrade - and capsizing in this area would mean hypothermia and death within minutes. Deserted Pam Island becomes their home base… But this movie tells a different story. Trusting only in themselves, the characters open their exciting world to the viewer: the world of passion and strange, original love.

The Other Side of the Poster
Druga strona plakatu, Poland, 2010, 52 min, Beta SP, Arts and Culture
This film is about one of the most important graphic movements of the XXth Century: the Polish Poster School. It became a phenomena world-wide in the 1960-70’s. Polish posters expressed the freedom of their creators in the communist times. The posters, present in everyday life and linked to the cultural and historical events, also tell the story of post-war Poland, of censorship in the communist times. Now that Poland has integrated into the European Union, dominated by mass entertainment and the market laws, is there still a place for the heritage of the post-communist countries in the contemporary culture?
