Each year, about 350 films from more than 24 countries submit to the project. East European filmmakers submit their new documentary and experimental films from the launch of a new edition in the beginning of February up to the end of June. The project is traditionally implemented within collaboration of IDFF Jihlava and Institute of Documentary Film. East Silver 2007 and the East European Forum will form the industry section of the 11th Jihlava IDFF from 24th to 28th October.
This year we offer 47 titles from Austria, 42 Russian, 33 documentaries from the Czech Republic, 32 from Poland, 19 from Hungary, dozen from Slovakia, Serbia, Croatia, Romania, Ukraine and Slovenia, 10 Bulgarian and Estonian, few films from Albania, Armenia, Byelorussia, Georgia, Kosovo, Latvia, Macedonia, Moldova, Lithuania and Tajikistan. Interesting point of view brings also the German guest section of the market catalogue. East Silver is the only market which supports producers and distributors from Central and East Europe. East European filmmakers submit their new documentary and experimental films from the launch of a new edition in the beginning of February up to the end of June.

East Silver offers a printed catalogue distributed to over five hundred film professionals, and an on-line database, in which directors and producers can present their films. The video library creates space for them to meet important distributors, television and festival programmers and important buyers. These can, through East Silver, systematically get to know not easily accessible documentary production from Central and East Europe and acquire selected films for further distribution. The video library, which catered for over 130 European film professionals in 2006, serves as a unique meeting point for the dialogue between film professionals from East and West.
