Katariina Lillqvist, born in Tampere, Finland ( 1963 ) is director, scriptwriter, film editor and animation artist. Her major works are mostly stop-motion puppet animations and ethnographical documentaries, often dealing with the history of Finnish and Czech Romanies, but she is also known for her radio features and literary works.

After the year 1989 she has been working together with many Czech animation artists like cameraman Miloslav Spala and animator Alfons Mensdorff-Pouilly.At the monent she is busy with the idea of alternative animation center and permanent exhibition, equipped with small experimental studio facilities in Prague.

Born 22.12.1939. Reijo Nikkilä studied Russian, Czech and Spanish at the Universities of Helsinki, Leningrad, Olomouc and Prague. He started his career as a journalist in TASS-Helsinki bureau 1966, but left the job exactly two years later as a protest to the Soviet occupation of CSSR. During almost four years he didn't get a visa to the USSR.
He worked for Finnish Broadcasting Company YLEISRADIO since 1968. From 1977 he was a Moscow-based foreign correspondent until 1987, when he became a full-time documentary filmmaker. The years 1991-95 he was a commissioning editor for Yleisradio`s Eastern Project. Starting from the end of 2006 he is a regular writer with his "Photo history" in a new Russian language weekly in Finland "Spektr NEDELI".

The Karlovy Vary IFF presents annually for the first time in the Czech Republic more than 200 new films from the whole world. The festival is open to public and is visited by thousands of young people annually.
