Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

Anna, Seven Years on the Frontline

Anna: sedm let na frontě, The Netherlands, 2008, 78 min, Digi Beta, Current Affairs, Politics, Portrait
This film is about Anna Politkovskaya, who had spent seven years on frontline and put herself in danger so often. Who felt very lonely, but could never stop doing what she did. We follow her, together with her thoughts and dreams. We see the same images she saw and we meet the same people she met, people who she always kept thinking about. In those last seven years of frontlines, she was always going somewhere, to Chechnya, Beslan or wherever. In order to understand Anna's work and duties, together with her character, her fears and feelings of loneliness, we meet three other women, each of them stood by her during hard times and moments of weakness.
